*My Little Trip Around Europe*

Rome - 28th May 2006

Rome day 2...

Woke up early in the morning at 6am just to take a pic of the Trevi fountain when there's no one around. After that, we went to the Basilica hopefully the catch the pope (since it was a sunday).

We passed by the Vatican Museum before reaching the Basilica.... and OMG!! The queue is SUPER SUPER LONG!!! and we were there like 2 hours earlier than the opening time. But then, today the vatican museum is free (it's free every first sunday of the month) So i guess that explains the crowd.

Ha ha, there were tons of ppl queuing for the Vatican Museum, but very few ppl in the Basilica... The Basilica is super super nice... And we actually attended the Mass.. 3 times!!! (Because we're waiting till 12pm for the Pope to come out). The grandest one is at 10.30am. We also went underground the Basilica to view the tombs of the previous popes... but erm.. ok.. nothing interesting.

And we of course saw the funnily dressed vatican guards... i still dunno why their costume is like that..

Well, anyway we got information that after the 10.30am mass, ppl would go outside to get a good seat to see the Pope. We went out, but the hundreds of rows of seats were still not accessible to the public... SO we waited till 12pm (which is suppose to be the time whereby the pope comes out)

12pm came, and still no Pope... we also got information that there should be a red carpet coming out of the Pope's Balcony... But we don't see anything.. Finally we got tired, and asked this security guy (wearing a black suit n black sunglasses... looks really like Men in Black) and he said the Pope ain't in Rome!!!!!! He's somewhere else... some other place in Italy!!! arghhh!!! we waited from around 8am to 12pm for nothing!!!! arghhh!!!!!

Sian diao lo... super sian diao... So we left the Basilica and went to St Angelo's (the castle) And we did the rest of our sightseeing.... which included the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and we took night shots of the Colosseum & Monumento a Vittorto Emanuele II...

Disappointed day... was so excited to get to see the Pope.... but he's not around... arghhh!!!! sway ah sway...
